Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions testers ask most. Can't find what you need? Drop a line at hello@listmantis.com.

Is it free?

There are two paid plans: Standard at £9.99 / month (up to 5 saved searches) and Pro at £24.99 / month (up to 20 saved searches). Both include every feature — push notifications, real-time alerts, vehicle intelligence, all five marketplaces — at the same speed. The only difference is how many searches you can run. We're launching on the App Store first with a 7-day free trial via Apple; cancel any time in the trial and pay nothing. Web subscriptions follow shortly after.

How quickly do alerts arrive after a listing is posted?

Most matched listings reach you within a few minutes of being posted. The exact delay varies by source — some marketplaces are faster to surface new listings than others. The Alerts feed shows a "found in X" indicator on each alert so you can see the real number for that listing.

Why didn't I get a match for a listing I saw on Facebook Marketplace?

A few common reasons: the listing might be outside your search radius, the keywords didn't quite match the title, the price was above your cap, or the seller marked it as sold/edited before our next check. Older listings that get "bumped" by sellers also won't fire alerts — we only notify on genuinely new posts.

Can I use it outside the UK?

Not yet. We're focused on getting UK coverage right before expanding. Use a UK postcode for now; we'll let you know when other regions land.

Is there an Android app?

Not at launch. The web app works well on Android phones in Chrome and Firefox, including push notifications. A dedicated Android app is on the roadmap once we've stabilised on iOS.

How do I turn off push notifications?

Open Settings › Notifications in the app and toggle push off. You can keep email alerts on as a backup, or turn everything off and rely on opening the Alerts tab manually. Per-search controls live inside each saved search if you want one specific search to stay quiet.

How do I delete my account and what happens to my data?

Open Settings › Account and tap Delete account. We permanently erase or anonymise your account data within 90 days of closure (retained briefly to handle any final billing or disputes), except payment records we're legally required to retain for tax purposes. See the privacy policy § 11 for the full retention table.

How many searches can I have?

Standard includes up to 5 saved searches; Pro includes up to 20 (4× the limit). Both plans run at the same speed and include every feature — the search cap is the only thing that differs.

Do you sell my data?

No. We don't sell, rent or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers. The only third parties we share data with are the services that run the product (payment processing, hosting, push delivery). The full list is in the privacy policy § 3.

Why don't you support [my favourite marketplace]?

We started with the five sources that cover the most ground in the UK: Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Gumtree, AutoTrader and Vinted. We're open to adding more if there's clear demand — tell us which one you want and we'll keep a tally.

The app says "Please update" — what does that mean?

A backend change has made your installed version incompatible. Open the App Store from the "Open the App Store" button in the message and install the latest version. Your saved searches and alerts stay safe — nothing's lost in the update.

I want to give feedback — where?

Best places: the in-app Feedback button in Settings, or email hello@listmantis.com directly. Feature requests, bug reports, "this is confusing" notes — all welcome. Every email shapes what we ship next.

Are my saved searches private?

Yes. Only you and our admin team (for support purposes) can see your saved searches and alert history. We don't share them externally and we don't use them to train any third-party model. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

Can List Mantis buy listings for me automatically?

No. List Mantis is a notification tool — we tell you when something matches, then you message the seller and complete the transaction yourself on the marketplace. We never message sellers, bid, or make offers on your behalf.

What's the difference between "locked" and "flexible" keywords?

A locked keyword must appear in the listing for it to match. A flexible keyword is one of a set where any one match is enough. Useful when you're flexible on the exact model (e.g. "AirPods Pro or AirPods Max") but strict on the brand ("Apple" locked).
